Whenever I think of Malibu, the image of Malibu Barbie in her conservative aqua swimsuit pops into my mind. I love the idea of a retro Malibu moment, complete with a woody station wagon with surfboards strapped to the top and a fruity cocktail on the beach. Can’t you just smell the ocean air?
Capturing the spirit of a laid back beach day, the BH Cosmetics Malibu Blush & Eyeshadow Palette ($8.95) has that same relaxed Malibu Barbie style from her debut in 1971. The palette contains 16 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, and 2 highlighters that range in texture including matte, satin, shimmering, and metallic. Not all of the eyeshadows have the same level of pigmentation, which helps to create dimension within a look. I am so surprised at this palette’s level of sophistication, especially considering the price point.
