Growing up, I was always bigger than the other kids in my class in every way: fatter, taller, and with bigger feet. I never had a sense of what being “normal” was like, so when I started to care about the way I dressed, I didn’t have a lot of options. All of the clothes I wanted to wear I was already sized out of. Being plus size for me isn’t just an industry term that I proudly support, it’s a way of life. I’m passionate about helping women get dressed in ways that express who they are, and using their voice to be represented in an industry that so often has no interest in listening. I will also occasionally weigh in on body politics and plus size fashion industry news when I feel like my perspective enhances the current conversation. I love the opportunity to learn from all of the voices within the plus size community.

I’ve told the simplified version of this story countless times. The “how I learned to love myself” story that everyone thinks has a finite finish line, and the moment you cross over the universe gives you $200 and a great ass. Reporters and moderators love to ask me about confidence like I’m somehow holding this magical […]
There are a lot of things about this TOCCA for Gwynnie Bee feather print dress that surprised me. I had totally forgotten that Tocca made clothes until this special delivery from GB arrived, and then I couldn’t stop thinking about how I wish their laundry wash was more readily available. Remember when we could buy it at […]
Several seasons ago, before Donna Karan’s departure at DKNY, I remember falling in love with flowing maxi tees during the runway show. Maxi tees appeal to my sensibilities on many levels, like my love of dramatic flowing pieces, layers, and proportion play. When I saw ELOQUII’s Button Down Sleeveless Maxi Top, I knew at a […]
