It’s no secret that I love, love, love this sheer polka dot top from ASOS. I can’t stop wearing it over layers, under tops, and even alone so much that I’ve already purchased a fall alternative. Sadly, almost everything I’m wearing in this post is last season or sold out, but I hope that it might spark new layering ideas for your next look. Besides, how can you have a bad day when you’re wearing Mickey Mouse’s face?

When Forever21+ partnered with Disney, I was so excited. This was the only piece I was able to find in my size even though I searched high & low for other styles. The cutoff sleeves keep it casual and perfect for both layering sheer tops & beautiful bras underneath. I also love wearing this shirt alone underneath a blazer with a great pair of jeans.

Plus, it helps add a feminine touch to an otherwise edgy look. Speaking of edgy, I’ve been all about my Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag this year.

I’m positive I’ll be repeating this combination soon. It’s such a great transitional look and could just as easily be worn with ankle booties as leather slides. Sheer tops don’t have to exclusively about showing off great cleavage (though don’t get me wrong, they are also excellent at that). They make great layering pieces, both over and under tops and dresses. It’s a great way to add dimension to an otherwise basic look. ASOS has been keeping a healthy selection in rotation recently, so that’s where I recommend starting your search.
